Who is My Resident Bill and why am I receiving a bill from you instead of the Stonegate Village Metropolitan District?

My Resident Bill is a water billing service provider that has been contracted by the Highlands at Stonegate HOA to bill each resident individually for the water used, instead of building the cost into the HOA dues.

How is my bill calculated?

Your resident water bill is made up of multiple line items, which come from the community bills received by Stonegate Village Metropolitan District. The fixed line items include:
- Supplemental Operations Fee
- Park/Rec
- Street Maintenance
- Water Service

Your individual fixed fees are calculated by adding all the fixed fees for the community and dividing by the total number of units. For example, if the Park/Rec fee for the community is $100 and there are 10 units, your individual Park/Rec fee would be $100 / 10 units = $10 per unit.

There are two line items on your bill which are calculated based on your water usage: Sewer Service and Water Usage fees.

An effective rate (or average) rate is generated for these line items by adding the total cost for the community and dividing by the total water usage measured.

For example, if the total cost of water usage for the community is $1,000 and there was a total of 10,000 gallons used, the effective rate would be $1,000 / 10,000 gallons = $0.10 per gallon. Your water cost is then calculated by multiplying your usage by the effective rate. In this example, if you used 1,000 gallons of water, your water usage fee would be 1,000 gallons x $0.10 / gallon = $100.

What are all the fixed fees on my bill?

Highlands at Stonegate gets water from the Stonegate Village Metropolitan District. This district has higher than average fixed fees, and an explanation of the fixed fees can be found at the link below:https://www.svmd.org/utility-rates-fees
Please note that the fees for this multi-family development do not perfectly align with the fee amounts for residential bills at the link above. Your individual fixed fees are generated as described in the previous question.

If you have any questions about these fees, please visit the Stonegate Village Metropolitan District website or contact them directly.

What is covered by the $8 billing and maintenance fee?

The $8 billing and maintenance fee covers all essential costs associated with accurately measuring, managing, and processing water billing for each unit. This includes:
- Cellular connectivity for water submeters – Ensuring reliable, real-time data transmission without requiring Wi-Fi or other network infrastructure.
- Lifetime warranty and replacement of submeters – We cover the cost of replacing submeters at the end of their life to maintain accurate billing.
- Software and system maintenance – Costs related to data capture, bill creation, and invoice distribution.
- Payment processing fees – Covering transaction costs for payments made by owners.
- Operational support and labor – Our team handles customer service, account management, and the full billing process to ensure accurate and timely charges.

This fee allows us to provide a seamless and hassle-free billing experience, ensuring long-term reliability and service continuity.

How can I set up a tenant to be billed for water?

Fill out the Tenant Billing form here.

As a landlord, it’s important to clearly explain the water billing obligations of the tenant in the lease agreement. We recommend consulting your legal counsel for proper lease language. As the owner of the property, you will ultimately be responsible for the water bill being paid as part of your agreement with the HOA.

How do I set up autopay for my bill?

To set up autopay for your bill, email support@myresidentbill.com with your full name and your HASN property address. A representative will guide you through the setup process and confirm once autopay is active. If you have any questions or need assistance, they can provide further details.
